Afraid Of The Dentist?
If the thought of sitting in a dental chair makes you anxious and afraid, don’t worry because you’re not alone. Thousands of dental patients put off seeing the dentist every year, risking the health of their smiles because of their fears and anxieties.
At Comprehensive Family Dentistry, we have a great option for our anxious patients. Our team is here to help with pain-free dentistry with oral and IV sedation options. You are always in control! You choose the level of sedation you are comfortable with during your procedure. But we do have to do a little legwork first.
Please schedule an initial consultation with the dentist to determine the best sedation option. The dentist will ask you questions and do a few tests to ensure you’re a good candidate for whatever level of sedation you request. And you’ll have access to sedatives at every visit for one flat fee you pay annually.

Available Levels of Sedation/Relaxation Dentistry:
Level 1: Nitrous oxide
A gentle sedative that helps you unwind during any treatment. You're good to drive yourself to and from the appointment.
Level 2: Light oral sedation
Light oral sedation, including Valium, will keep you relaxed throughout the procedure despite remaining awake. Just remember, you'll need a ride home after your appointment.
Level 3: Moderate oral sedation
Moderate oral sedation, involving Valium and triazolam, allows you to remain awake yet relaxed and at ease during the procedure. It's a budget-friendly alternative to IV sedation, but don't forget —you'll need a ride home afterward.
Level 4: IV sedation
Our trained dental anesthesiologist administers this to ensure the utmost safety and effectiveness. You'll sleep soundly through the procedure and wake up with minimal to no memory of it. Just be sure to arrange a ride to and from your appointment.
Sedation dentistry should mean fewer visits to the dentist for you, and the visits you do have will be more pleasant and less anxiety-inducing.

The medications we use will allow you to be relaxed and comfortable, similar to a minor medical procedure in an outpatient hospital setting. You will be unconscious and unaware of the sights and sounds of the dental procedure. When you wake up, you will not be in pain because we also use a local anesthetic during the procedure.
-
Yes. Due to the sedative effects of the medication, you will need someone to drive you to our office and home again.
