The Types of Cosmetic Dental Procedures

You have many options for cosmetic dentistry when you want to enhance your smile.

Cosmetic dentistry is on the rise, and even some television shows how a dentist can turn the teeth of almost anyone to make them happy.

Not everyone will work for any of the above methods. Your dentist can help you decide the best way to improve your smile.

  • Cosmetic Teeth Whitening: this method will also light the teeth and save those from discoloration and/or coloration and whiten them. It can be performed at home or at the dental office. Not everyone can bleach their teeth, so first testing it with your dentist is really necessary.

  • Cosmetic dental veneers: Veneer is a thin, porcelain-based or composite shell. The front of your tooth is custom-made and cemented. Dental disorders such as small crooks, colorless teeth, chipped tooth or gap between teeth can be protected with a veneer. Veneer can also be used.

  • Cosmetic tooth implants: a metal implant is a repair device for missing teeth. The system is normally made of titanium and worked in the jawbone. The dental implant is constructed for the purpose of anchoring artificial teeth, such as a curve, a bridge, or prosthesis.

  • Cosmetic teeth: The dentist may resize the tooth by filtering or removing some of the enamel often referred to as "enamel shaping." Typically this process cannot be painful and can have immediate consequences.

  • Cosmetic dental crowns: Also, called caps, can match the entire tooth after it is prepared by the cosmetic dentist. They typically consist of porcelain or acrylic fused to metal, to avoid biting pressure. Crowns may be used for the care of dentures with poor form, poor color, damaged and chips or large fillings, in cosmetic dentistry, or cover gaps between teeth.

  • Cosmetic tooth bonding: The bonding process is the adhesion of dental materials to the tooth (bonding). It is a technique to restore or enhance the appearance of a badly dyed, missing or chipped tooth.

  • Cosmetic Orthodontic Treatment: Children are not the only ones with orthodontics. More and more adults are opting for cosmetic treatment from orthodontics. Ask your dentist if an orthodontist will help you if you have a crooked teeth.

Speak to your dentist about the improvements you want and the treatment that best suits you. Dental insurance cannot cover cosmetic dentistry or have a very significant out-of-pocket cost and this may be your preferred factor.
